Danish Shipping in cooperation with the industry, wants to increase the proportion of women in shipping. The Toolbox Taskforce for more women at sea is continuously updated with new ideas and is thus a dynamic size. The tools have been prepared for the purpose of supporting the efforts behind the 10 recom­men­da­tions that the Taskforce for more women at sea has drawn up and which are aimed at shipping companies, maritime educational institutions and other stakeholders in Blue Denmark.

DIS Salary statistics

Members of Danish Shipping and Danish Ferry Association must report salary data for their seafarers who serve on a ship registered in the Danish International Ship Register. The salary reports must be sent to the Danish Employers' Association.

Maternity compensation scheme

Danish Shipping administers the Maternity Compensation Scheme for the shipping industry. The scheme, which is industry-specific, is part of the common equalization in the DA area. Maternity compensation, introduced by law, compensates the registered shipping companies' expenses for employees' wages during their maternity leave. Reimbursement is based on the salary paid to employees on maternity leave.
