Danish Shipping Marks International Women's Day with Workshop on Concrete Measures to Promote Diversity and Inclusion

Danish Shipping’s DEI-network hosted a workshop focusing on companies' and organizations' concrete initiatives and results in the field. Participants left with a wealth of valuable and actionable ideas

Danish Shipping’s DEI-network got a head start on the celebrations and marked International Women's Day today with a workshop on how to turn diversity and inclusion in recruitment and communication into strengths for businesses and organizations.

"DEI is an important agenda for Danish Shipping. That’s why it’s also important for us to facilitate these kinds of networking meetings, where our members and other companies and organizations can share insights into their strategic considerations, concrete initiatives, and results in the DEI area. It is always highly interesting and inspiring, and there are always participants who leave with great ideas for concrete solutions in their own companies," said Anne Windfeldt Trolle, Director of Labour Market, Recruitment, and Education at Danish Shipping.

At the workshop, BaneDanmark gave a presentation on how to implement inclusion tools in a large organization, while Develop Diverse shared concrete tools for creating more inclusion and promoting gender equality in corporate culture and recruitment.

Focusing on diversity and inclusion in recruitment delivers better results.
Marie Sommer, HR Business Partner at Stena Rederi

Marie Sommer, HR Business Partner at Stena Rederi, spoke about why integrating diversity and inclusion into the recruitment process is a central focus area for Stena Rederi:

"For me, diversity and inclusion are also about not seeing limitations when recruiting. You should see potential. As a company, we operate worldwide. It only makes sense to consider the widest possible pool of applicants – the largest possible potential. Otherwise, you’re simply depriving yourself of opportunities to find the right new colleagues."

It is not just about doing the right thing. It is also about doing what is right for your company.

"Focusing on diversity and inclusion in recruitment delivers better results. It creates a better workplace with well-being and engaged employees. It contributes to better solutions, more creativity, and innovation. Quite simply, it lays the foundation for better and faster results," said Marie Sommer.
