Funds
Below are the funds administered by Danish Shipping, including whether they accept applications. The purposes for which support can be sought, as well as application requirements and conditions for granting support, are also outlined. Applications that fall outside the scope of the funds' purposes will not be considered for support.
Peder and Kamma Koch Jensen's Memorial Fund
The purpose of the fund is to promote everything that serves the best interests of maritime affairs.
The fund accepts applications. Only applications that align with this purpose will be considered for support, as determined by the fund's board. The fund has an annual allocation of approximately DKK 50-75,000.
Applications for support must be submitted in writing and include the following information at a minimum:
• Details of the requested amount, including whether other funds, etc., have been approached for the same or similar amounts.
• Description of the purpose of the application, including where the support will be used, such as if it is part of a larger project.
• Explanation of how the requested amount serves the best interests of maritime affairs.
• Budget for how the support will be used, including the overall financials of the project, with total income and expenses stated.
• Information and a brief description of the applicant and recipient (applicant's name, including the company or organization and its purpose, address, contact person, CVR number or CPR number, bank details, etc.).
The application with relevant documentation should be sent by email to fond@danishshipping.dk.
The application deadline is October 1st each year, with disbursements made by December of the same year. All applications will receive a response.
Approved applications will be disbursed once the applicant has met the conditions and submitted the necessary documentation. Grants from the fund are reported to the Tax Authority according to applicable rules and are typically taxable for the recipient.
Danish Shipping's Support Fund and the Fund for Seafarers and the Welfare of Maritime Personnel
The fund's purposes are:
1) to provide individual support to survivors of Danish seafarers and to elderly or infirm seafarers or support to foundations, associations, or self-governing institutions for needy seafarers, such as seamen's homes and the like.
2) to support institutions that work for the welfare of maritime affairs or individuals deemed worthy of support and connected to the maritime sector.
The fund accepts applications. Only applications that align with these purposes will be considered for support, as determined by the fund's board. The fund has an annual allocation of approximately DKK 250,000.
Applications for individual support must be made using the application form available on this page. The application form includes guidelines and information on the attachments, including connections to the maritime sector, that should be included. The application form and attachments should be sent by email to fond@danishshipping.dk. In exceptional cases, the application form and attachments can also be sent to Danish Shipowners, Amaliegade 33, 1256 Copenhagen K. Mark the envelope "Fund Application."

Approved individual support is disbursed every December after the board meeting. The fund has received approval under section 7, paragraph 22 of the Tax Act, so individual support is tax-exempt for the recipient. Other approved applications are disbursed once the applicant has met the conditions and submitted the necessary documentation. Grants from the fund are reported to the Tax Authority according to applicable rules and are typically taxable for the recipient.
Pension Fund for Ship Officers
The fund's purpose is to provide pension supplements, including supplements for active, retired, disabled, widowed, and child pensions, and to grant special transition allowances in connection with retirement within the shipping companies that have historically contributed to the fund.
The fund does NOT accept applications. Only affiliated shipping companies can recommend pension supplements.
