Are you currently undertaking your maritime foundation training and looking for 12 months of effective sea time? With Kom med Ombord (All Aboard), you have the opportunity to sail with three different shipping companies and experience several segments of the maritime industry. The programme provides both the required sea time and valuable insight into what a career at sea can offer.
YOUR PATHWAY TO A STRUCTURED SEA INTERNSHIP
All Aboard (Kom med Ombord) is an internship programme developed in collaboration with six member shipping companies of Danish Shipping: A.P. Moller-Maersk, TORM, DFDS, Molslinjen, Cadeler and Esvagt.
As a participant, you are guaranteed 12 months of effective sea time, split across three different companies – giving you the opportunity to explore several segments of the maritime industry, such as deep sea, passenger ferries and offshore.
The programme provides valuable hands-on experience and broad insight into the many career opportunities at sea.
Prerequisites for participation:
- The Basic Maritime Education
- Clean criminal record
- Danish passport with a minimum of one year’s validity
- Danish seafarer’s book
- You must also be able to undergo regular drug and alcohol testing
How to apply for admission to Kom med Ombord (All Aboard)
All Aboard admits 70 interns each year, divided across four intake groups starting in February, May, August and November.
- This means you must apply well in advance.
- For example: If you wish to start in May 2026, you must submit your application already in February 2026, as the group is assembled in the months leading up to departure.

Once we have received your application, you will be contacted for an interview regarding your motivation, expectations and suitability for the programme. The interview forms part of the overall assessment before final admission.
