The Competence Development Fund
Invest in maritime skills
The Competence Development Fund was established in 2007 as part of the collective agreement renewal between Danish Shipping and the trade unions HK and 3F. The fund supports continuing and further education for employees in shipping companies with the aim of strengthening their competencies—for the benefit of both the employee and the company.
The funding may cover everything from course fees and educational materials to necessary expenses related to travel and accommodation during training. Support can be granted for courses requested by the employer as well as for training initiatives proposed by the employee—provided they fall within the framework of the collective agreement.
Applications are submitted through the employer, who files the form on behalf of the employee. All applications are assessed according to the current guidelines outlined in the fund’s brochure.
